Google Officially Announces Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL, Here's the Specification

After the long-awaited, finally Google has just announced its flagship smartphone duo, the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL. As the next generation, both Pixel smartphones bring many improvements from the first model and like its predecessor, both come with a "made by Google" logo without any branding from the manufacturer (HTC and LG).


If the Pixel and Pixel XL that glide last year look different only in size alone, this time the second generation of Pixel smartphone is differentiated in terms of screen size, resolution, and battery capacity. Even the aspect ratio of the screen also distinguishes the look between Pixel and Pixel 2 XL.
Although both of these smartphones offer the same user experience, but Pixel 2 XL looks different because it is influenced by the ratio of 18: 9 which makes the bezel of this smartphone to be very thin, as well as the battery capacity is quite different. But for other specifications, both of these smartphones share the same specifications.

For the highest variant, of course is occupied by Pixel 2 XL, where this smartphone comes with a 6-inch-wide screen resolution of 1440 x 2880 pixels (ratio 18: 9) with the type of P-OLED. But because Pixel 2 XL wants to present the front-facing stereo speakers, so the smartphone bezel is somewhat thicker when compared to other full-screen smartphones. Not to forget, Coring Gorilla Glass 5 has also been carried by this smartphone.

While for Pixel 2 comes with 5-inch Full HD resolution screen with AMOLED panel type. Unlike the Pixel 2 XL, the aspect ratio on Pixel 2 is only 16: 9 which makes it has a thick bezel like the first-generation Pixel. Pixel 2 also has used Gorilla Glass 5 to coat the screen.

For the kitchen runway not so surprising, where the specifications are still the same as another flagship. Both these smartphones are both present with Snapdragon 835 chip set combined with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB and 128 GB storage options.

For photography is not much change that brought these two smartphones. If many of today's flagship smartphones have a dual-camera setup, the latest Pixel duo still loyally carry a single camera. Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL come with one e-SIM and nano SIM slot, which lets you have two numbers.

For other features, both come with Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, GPS and dual band Wi-Fi. There are also special security chips to protect the device against malware and hardware attacks. The battery is a distinguishing feature of both smartphones that are most pronounced. It is still understandable because both have a difference in screen size far enough. The smaller Pixel 2 comes with a 2.700 mAh battery, while the Pixel 2 XL has a 3.529 mAh battery. For colour availability, Pixel 2 has a choice of blue, black, and white, while Pixel 2 XL only comes in black and a blend of white and black.

Google says both phones will receive security updates for the next 3 years, including the latest operating system. Both will be available on October 17 with a price tag of $ 649 for Pixel 2 64GB and $749 for the 128GB model.
