Sony Announces Xperia XA2 and Xperia XA2 Ultra, This Specifications

Tokyo - Ahead of the 2018 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas held on January 9, 2018, Sony has announced two new phones in its XA line, Xperia XA2 and Xperia XA2 Ultra. Sony is quite traditionalist in designing. Each new iteration of the phone has a slight update in its appearance. The new XA phone is no exception. There is no 18: 9 screen, no futuristic appearance, just a famous rectangle.

For the XA line, in addition to having a thin bezel from the beginning, there are some cool hardware upgrades, and a new placement for fingerprint scanner. The scanner is no longer embedded in the power button on the side, but gets its own place behind the phone.
XA phones have always been middle-class phones. Sony Xperia XA2 and XA2 Ultra are both supported by Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 - SoC octa cores capable of doing clock speeds up to 2.2 GHz.

The regular XA2 has 3 GB of RAM, while the Ultra version has 4 GB of RAM. Smaller phones only have 32 GB of storage, while larger siblings will also be present in the 64 GB variant, but both will support increased storage capacity via microSD card.

As you might guess from its name now, one of the main differences between XA2 and XA2 Ultra is on the screen.

There is no 18: 9 aspect ratio in both, as both have traditional 16: 9 aspect ratios. Xperia XA2 "regular" has a 5.2 inch screen with 1080 x 1920 pixel resolution, while the XA2 Ultra is larger, with a 6 inch 1080 x 1920 screen.

Both handsets have a pretty good battery, 3,300 mAh on Xperia XA2 and 3,580 mAh on the Xperia XA2 Ultra. Sony has Battery Care and Qnovo Adaptive Charging suites working behind to ensure fast charging time and long battery life.
Both of these handsets carry the 23 MP main camera on their backs. This camera is capable of recording 4K video and can capture clips slow motion 120 FPS. This camera also has an extreme light sensitivity - ISO can be up to 12,800 for very dark conditions.

At the front, Xperia XA2 has a wide angle camera of 120 degrees, 8 MP to help you get more things into the picture yourself.

Xperia XA2 Ultra has two selfie cameras - wide-angle cameras like its smaller siblings and a 16 MP camera that is assisted by its own OIS module for extra stable and detailed selfie. To complete it, Xperia XA2 Ultra has a selfie light for dark shots.

Xperia XA2 and XA2 Ultra also come with SmartAmp - an improved sound feature, which will improve the tone coming from the speaker phone. However, there is still no stereo speakers on the phone.
XA2 and XA2 Ultra will be launched in early February. Xperia XA2 "regular" will be available in Silver, Black, Blue, and Pink colors, while XA2 Ultra will come in Silver, Black, Blue and Gold colors.

The price is still unknown and Sony will be announced by market as the launch date approaches. In previous years, the smaller XA was around $ 300, while the XA Ultra was $ 370 ($ 550) or more.
